A requiem rally was held in Zaporizhzhia, dedicated to one of the worst disasters in human history. During the event, a monument to the liquidators of the accident was unveiled.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In their honor, a long-awaited monument to the heroes and liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster was opened in Zaporizhia. Its sculptor was Ruben Hovhannesyan, the architect was Vadym Petrenko, and Chernobyl veterans directly participated in the creation and selection of the location for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The memorial is symbolic. It is erected on a round platform, which signifies the planetary scale of the disaster. On it is a sloping slab, symbolizing the scorched earth. The three hundred kilogram ball is a peaceful atom that has gotten out of control and is stopped on an inclined square. It seems to have emerged from a time arch-portal - a symbol of the division of life into before and after the accident. The bell on it is an element of almost all monuments to Chernobyl victims.
